Trip to the ER

Well we made our first trip to the ER with the little girl last night. I really hope we never have to do that again. She is doing fine, she just scared us. Here's what happened:

I went to go get something to eat and when I got back my hubby was holding her and she was whimpering. He said that she was bouncing in her jumperoo when all of a sudden she started screaming and looking around like something had really frightened her. He was able to get her calmed down after about 10 minutes. Well she was fine for about 5 minutes and then she started crying again only it was a cry that we hadn't heard from her before. She kept crying for almost 2 hours she took one break for about 40 seconds and was breathing really weird and we couldn't get her to open her eyes (I think she was exhausted from the crying) anyway my hubby called the after hours nurse line and they said to take her to the er as this wasn't normal for her. We got her strapped into her car seat and started heading towards the ER and she just miracuously stopped crying and started talking to me and smiling. She was smiling at the ER nurses and doctor too. She didn't have a fever and everything checked out normally so they think that she either hurt herself in the jumperoo (not likely) or she got really scared and wasn't able to get herself calmed down for that long. Not really sure what happened. Of course today the poor girl is pretty tired. Who wouldn't be after crying for that long and only getting about 8 hours of sleep when you are used to 10. She has been right on her routine today though and has been smiling at me and eating normally she just isn't as busy as she normally is, she is quite content for me to just hold her on my lap.

All I know is she had my hubby and me scared to death. We were just so worried about her. I am still a little worried but she seems to be doing better so I guess she just had a baby anxiety attack or something. Hope that never happens again.

Mary, sorry you had to go to the er. I had a similar experience with Joey when she was tiny and turned out fine but in the meantime, I was home alone and totally crazy and beside myself with guilt, fear, anxiety, etc. I can imagine how horrible it was for you!!! Glad it worked out!!!
